What Annie thought was appendicitis turned out to be acute myloid leukemia (AML). She received several units of blood and platelets in the first six months after her diagnosis. Annie encourages anyone who is able to give blood to do so. She is very grateful and thankful that the people donated blood, so it was available when she needed it.
